Supper Club - November 2017

Day of the Dead

In many parts of the world, but especially in Latin America and above all in Mexico, the Day of the Dead is celebrated between 31st October and 2nd November in honour of friends and family who are no longer with us in body, but still in spirit.  We’ll be recognizing this ourselves with a supper club on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th November.  As ever we’ll be serving the best authentic Latin American cuisine, but this time with a particular emphasis on the hearty spicy cuisine of Mexico, including tacos and rabbit in chocolate sauce – we hope to see you there!

How to book:

As this is a small gathering for only 20 guests, it is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending our supper clubs and other events, you can join our mailing list or send me a message to esnayder@sabor.co.uk.

Cost: £40 per head including welcome cocktail, BYO

Start time: welcome cocktails from 7pm, dinner served at 7.30pm

Fresh mora (South American blackberry) and lime juice blended with tequila, triple sec

Tacos Pibil

Cornmeal tortillas filled with cochinita pibil, a traditional Mexican slow roasted pork dish

Vieras con Maracuya

Scallops pan-fried with passion fruit butter and served with mango salsa

Ensalada

Quinoa, black bean, avocado and orange salad

Conejo con salsa de Chocolate

Succulent, slow-cooked rabbit in an authentic spicy chocolate sauce, served with papas a la huancaina

Dulce de leche cheesecake with guava sauce

Casa Sabor Classics

For our first Casa Sabor at Home, we have decided to start where we left off when we closed the doors on Essex Road, so we are going to revisit some of the Sabor classics dishes. Expect a welcome with our passion fruit margarita, to be followed by the menu below. You will get a taste of Esnayder’s own coffee from his family farm in Colombia.
